Perteneciente a una familia de la burguesía catalana, se convirtió en la dueña de una empresa textil en Castellar del Vallés (Barcelona). Dedicó entonces buena parte de su tiempo y sus recursos financieros a realizar obras sociales en esa localidad. A petición de la población, se solicitó un título nobiliario para ella en señal de agradecimiento, y la reina regente María Cristina en [[1896]] le concedió el de Marquesa de San Esteban del Castellar (nombre que tenía entonces la población).<br />

Entre otras obras creó un colegio de primera enseñanza, que cedió en [[1896]] a las Escuelas Pías de Cataluña en [[1896]], además de establecer un capital en deuda perpetua para su mantenimiento. A causa de la Guerra Civil se abandonó el colegio en [[1936]]. Terminada la guerra, los escolapios volvieron a la localidad, pero los herederos no estaban en condiciones de mantener el colegio, a lo que se unía la carestía de personal en la Provincia, así que en [[1939]] se abandonó la obra, que luego se convirtió en cuartel de la Guardia Civil.<br />
