En [[1626]] acude a Milán, enviado por el Provincial Castelli, para aprender de Gaspar Schopp su método de enseñanza del latín. Destinado a Florencia, fue un tiempo Superior. También lo fue más tarde en Cárcare. Los años [[1634]]-[[1637]] los pasó en Nápoles, Palermo y Mesina. En Palermo se le acusó ante la Inquisición de haber dicho alguna herejía en un sermón; aunque resultó inculpado, se le aconsejó mayor prudencia. Superior de Florencia ([[1637]]-[[1640]]), favoreció la orientación galileiana y la Escuela de Nobles dirigida por el P. Juan Francisco Apa. Quedan muchas cartas a él dirigidas por Calasanz en esta etapa. Acusado por Mario Sozzi ante la Inquisición, debe abandonar Florencia. Pasa de Roma a Nápoles, donde fue Rector de Porta Reale en [[1646]]. En diciembre tuvo que salir de allí por ser extranjero.
