Sra. Condesa Francisca Palffi, nacida Kanin de Belassi,Lichtenberg y Gandegg, señora hereditaria de las fortalezas de Neülempach, Paumgarten y Reipoltenpach; viuda del Excmo. Sr Conde Pablo Palffi de Erdeöd etc., palatino del Reino de Hungría, quien de sus bienes hereditarios hizo la fundación de Prievidza para 12 religiosos de las Escuelas Pías el 17 de febrero de 1666, asignando una capital de 25.000 florines renanos, que producen un rédito anual de 1.500 florines renanos. Además de sus bienes ofreció fondos para construir la iglesia, el colegio, las escuelas, la casa y un huerto. Sin embargo falleció en Viena el 9 de mayo de 1672, antes de que se colocara el capital y se completara la construcción (de la cual había terminado los muros maestros, dentro y fuera en torno; junto con las chimeneas de las habitaciones y los pisos inferiores). Los ilustrísimos herederos de la misma, concretamente sus hijos D. Juan Antonio y D. Juan Carlos, y su hija Teresa, Condes y Condesa Palffi de Erdëod, ejecutaron la piadosa voluntad de su señora madre, nuestra generosísima fundadora, y de los bienes maternos indivisos separaron 25.000 florines renanos como capital para la fundación, que contaron y entregaron a coheredero y hermano el Ilmo. Sr. Conde Juan Carlos Palffi de Erdeöd. Él, tras recibir los 25.000 florines renanos separados, entregó a las Escuelas Pías una carta de obligación y pagaré, comprometiéndose a pagar 1.500 florines renanos anuales al año, perpetuamente, sobre la hipoteca de su señorío de Nëulempace situado en Austria, el 29 de agosto de 1672.
