Años más tarde, don Miguel Checa, ministro plenipotenciario del Perú, pidió nuevamente una fundación escolapia en muy buenas condiciones para la capital de la nación. Tal propuesta se encontraba respaldada por el presidente de la República, Sr. Leguía. Recibió la petición el P. Vicario, Justo Blanco, quien pasaba en aquellas fechas la Visita canónica a las casas de Chile. Aceleró su tarea y así el día 9 de agosto salía de Valparaíso para acercarse a Lima.
