Pequeño pueblo, llamado en otro tiempo Casal Nuovo, dista de Campi y de Francavilla 30 y 20 kms. respectivamente. D. Jaime Antonio Carrozzo por testamento (12-12-[[1681]]) ofrecía su patrimonio para una fundación de las Escuelas Pías en su pueblo. Murió el 2-4-[[1682]]. El cabildo de canónigos impugnó el testamento: el pleito acabó en [[1688]] a favor de las Escuelas Pías. Entre tanto, dos sobrinos de Carrozzo ingresaron en la Orden y antes de profesar hicieron donación a la misma de su patrimonio; eran Tomás y Antonio Carrozzo. Profesaron juntos el 12-1-[[1685]]. Se abrió la fundación el 6-6-[[1688]] en locales provisionales, instalándose en la iglesia el santísimo Sacramento y celebrándose la primera misa. El primer rector y fundador fue Dionisio Cesario. La primera piedra de la iglesia se colocó en [[1702]] y se bendijo el templo, ya terminado el 18-5-[[1710]]. Fue obra del H. Víctor Tunni de San Juan Evangelista ([[1660]]-[[1730]]), arquitecto. Por su necrología se sabe que varios prelados y señores le habían encargado obras varias. A pesar de los donativos se precisó de empréstitos; pero la administración fue buena y todo acabó sin dejar deudas. Entre las donaciones fue singular la del sacerdote Silvestre de Capua que en [[1720]] dio todos sus bienes a la Orden y luego, a pesar de ser setentón, entró en el noviciado que se le permitió hacer en Manduria: profesó y murió santamente en [[1722]]. La comunidad osciló entre 6 y 12 miembros. De ordinario hubo solo dos escuelas y muy bien llevadas (Visita general de [[1738]]). Durante varios años se tuvo un pequeño juniorato para 6 clérigos, que alimentaba la casa: su economía era buena, como se comprueba en los balances anuales. Por lo demás no quedan noticias. Se ignora el momento de cierre tras la ley de [[1809]]. En [[1818]] se nombra rector de la casa al P. Fernando Arnó, natural de Manduria. En [[1823]] no figura ya como existente al rehacerse la Provincia de Nápoles.<br />
